Engineering: Innovation, design and technology for everyone.
Building and creating individual solutions – we don’t believe in ‘can’t’
Our highly skilled multi-disciplinary team designs and develop innovative assistive technology solutions. We use the latest tools for design and manufacture to maximise the simplicity and effectiveness of the solution and minimise costs. We’re completely client-focussed and understand the challenging requirements of assistive technologies.
In addition to supporting our work providing the NHS England Specialised AAC Service in the North West and Thames Valley and Wessex, we provide a wide range of services directly to individuals and families, charities, service providers, education and commercial organisations. We specialise in:
- Developing bespoke assistive technologies
- Providing consultancy at early stage product development
- Rapid design iteration from concept to production using the latest 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
- Manufacture of components using our in-house state of the art Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) and Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) 3D printers and CNC machine.
- Development of electronic devices for access to technology using low-cost development boards
Whilst these technologies sound complex, they help us to keep things simple! We consider all options during development, including solutions that are already available.
Design without boundaries – development through collaboration.
We believe in Open Design and share our designs publicly so others can input into further development or download the files for local manufacture anywhere in the world. We keep things simple; we don’t believe in “can’t”.
We work closely with other organisations which enable us to understand how different assistive technology services interact.
Our services can be provided at home, at work or at one of our assessment centres in either Manchester or Abingdon. We’ve even provided engineered solutions out on location.
Here are just some of the ways our design and engineering team can make a difference..
