AAC Language Library

18/03/2025

Ace Centre is proud to home the new AAC Language Library, a collaborative project, on our website. A bank of resources striving to be the go-to place to search for and share AAC resources in languages other than English.

Developed by professionals across the NHSE Specialised AAC Services including Ace Centre, Lincolnshire Community Health Services, Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, North Bristol NHS Trust, Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability, Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust and Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust. The language library strives to create a collective environment aimed at delivering equity for all AAC users by providing the right resources to meet a diverse range of communication needs.

Collaboration is at the heart of the AAC Language Library, as it is built on the belief that by working together, we can create a more inclusive and accessible world for individuals who use AAC. Over recent years, the field of AAC has recognised that many AAC users have various language needs and therefore have the right to resources which supports them to effectively communicate in those languages. Yet, we also know how hard it is as professionals to find resources in a language you don’t speak. It is our hope that the AAC Language Library will make this easier, giving you more time to focus on supporting AAC users.

The AAC Language Library is open and free for anyone to use and contribute to. The resources are moderated by a team of editors to ensure a high quality is maintained. Simply create a free account by clicking here to add paper or power based AAC resources you have made or know of in an language other than English or browse the library to see resources by clicking here.
