This course aims to increase awareness and opportunities for children with complex communication and learning needs to engage in play.

The course will be delivered online, comprising two live webinars, and self-directed online study. Access to course materials will be provided for three months after the second webinar.

Learning Outcomes:

  • To consider the importance of play for the development of communication & learning
  • To identify 4 potential barriers for children with complex communication & learning needs to engage in play
  • To describe different types of play and explore potential AAC resources that can be used
  • To consider how we can provide opportunities for children to participate within play activities

This is a DEVELOPING LEVEL course suitable for professionals & carers working with children with complex communication, physical & learning needs.
