iPad Accessibility and iOS 13

Purpose:- This course will focus on access to the iPad for individuals with physical disabilities and learning needs. It will explain the different accessibility features available within iOS 13 to meet a range of physical, learning and sensory needs. The session will demonstrate how and why different features are used and who they are suitable for. A particular focus will be on the interaction with the touch screen via touch, voice and switch control and consideration of hearing, visual and learning requirements. New features of iOS 13 will be explored along with features inherent in iOS 10-12.
Participants:- Suitable for practitioners working in the field of Assistive Technology who support individuals with complex physical, sensory and learning needs. This course is for practitioners working at IPAACKS Level 2 and above who have an understanding of how Assistive Technology can enable individuals to achieve tasks that they would otherwise find difficult.
1. To select accessibility options on an iPad to meet an individual’s abilities and needs.
2. To understand how an iPad can be set up for different types of physical access and learning needs.
3. To modify accessibility options to meet an identified need.
