I am an Occupational Therapist and have previously worked as a Mental Health Practitioner for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service and as a Specialist Occupational Therapist for the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME Service.
During my time at university, I worked as a supply Teaching Assistant in a Special Needs school, where I developed an interest in Assistive Technology and Augmentative and Alternative Communication. My role at Ace Centre involves being part of the assessment and service delivery team, which supports adults and children with communication difficulties in a range of settings.
When I’m not at work I can usually be found on a football pitch cheering on my two teenage sons! I am grateful that I am able to communicate in this way and I feel strongly that everyone should be given the opportunity to develop their own communication skills. I enjoy working with clients and their families, supporting them to identify their communication needs and exploring different ways to express themselves.
